Account Deletion Request

If you wish to delete your ViitPay account and associated data, please fill out the form below. This process will permanently remove your account and most of your personal data from our systems.

Request Account Deletion

Important Notice

Account deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all ViitPay services and any remaining balances. Please ensure you have transferred any remaining funds before requesting account deletion.

Types of Data Deleted and Retained

Deleted Data:

  • Personal profile information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Bank account and mobile wallet linkages
  • Transaction history and payment records
  • Security credentials (PINs, biometric data)
  • Preferences and settings
  • Notification preferences

Retained Data:

  • Transaction records required for legal and regulatory compliance (retained for 7 years)
  • Records necessary for tax reporting purposes
  • Information required to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) laws
  • Data needed for audit trails and fraud prevention
  • Aggregated, anonymized data used for analytics (without personal identifiers)

Data Retention Period

In compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and anti-money laundering laws, certain transaction records will be retained for a period of 7 years after account deletion.

During this retention period, your personal identifiers will be removed from the data, but transaction patterns may be retained for regulatory purposes.
